The Crewsaide (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of the Minnesota filmmaking community. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit http://thecrewsaide.com. 

1. WHO WE ARE

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND WHY

Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist with spam detection. 

An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: automattic.com. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. 

Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. 

User Profiles
For users that register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. 

3. COOKIES 

Comments
If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for your convenience. These last for one year. 

Login
If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies (contains no personal data; discarded when you close your browser). When you log in, we set cookies to save your login info (2 days) and screen display choices (1 year). If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks.

Editing
If you edit or publish an article, a cookie indicating the post ID is saved (contains no personal data; expires after 1 day). 

4. EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content.

As a platform serving Minnesota, we recognize your rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to Deletion: You can request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal obligations (e.g., administrative or security purposes).
• Right to Opt-Out: You have the right to opt-out of the sale of personal data or targeted advertising. Note: The Crewsaide does not sell your personal data to third parties.
• Right to List of Third Parties: You may request a list of specific third parties to whom we have disclosed your personal data.

6. DATA RETENTION & SHARING

Retention
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. For registered users, we store profile data as long as the account exists.

Sharing
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Spam Detection
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. 

7. DATA SECURITY 

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, no electronic transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
